Professional Development Plan
In an effort to stay current on teaching pedagogy, I have taken many professional development classes through CTEL including the full year long ACUE Training course, the updated SLS Training Course, and the Groundwater Training. In the future, I plan to take more Groundwater Training courses as well as taking any courses offered by the Advisory Council for the Advancement of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (ACADEI). I also hope to be involved with the South Florida People of Color Partnership’s Awkward Dinners and Train the Trainer when the schedule is released in 2022.
In addition to the above, I am currently enrolled in the Comparative Studies PhD program at Florida Atlantic University. I have completed all my PhD coursework and I am currently all but dissertation (ABD).
My dissertation investigates intersectionality and gender power dynamics in contemporary Fantasy literature and is titled, “Power Plays: (Re) Creating Power Structures in The Legend of Eli Monpress Series.” I am expecting to complete my dissertation in 2022.
